- Dubuque Yacht Basin and RV Park:

sales and repairs, and a variety of storage methods. The RV park offers
seasonal campsites with power and water. A heated pool, showers and
laundry facilities are located on the property, which also is the site
of Catfish Charlie's restaurant.

Finley's Landing Road, Sherrill, Iowa, 552-1571. This 120-acre marina
and campground offers primitive and modern camping facilities with
electrical hookups, flush toilets and shower facilities. The grounds
have hiking trails and pavilions for rental.

Frentress Lake Marine Center Inc.: 830 W. Gill Road, East
Dubuque, Ill., 815/747-3155. The Marine Center offers a gas dock
facility on the Mississippi River with overnight dockage, summer/winter
storage, winterizing and boat slip rental.
- Massey
Marina: 9400 Massey Marina Lane, seven miles south of Dubuque
on U.S. 52. This 11-acre park offers camping, a boat ramp, a pavilion
and playground, showers, a Laundromat and two harbors.
- Mid-Town
Marina: 285 Fifth St., East Dubuque, Ill., 815/747-3310.
Mid-Town offers winter storage, dockage, marine accessories, service and
sales, a full dock and pump-out station. The lounge and restaurant is
open March 1 through Nov. 1 and offers summer Sunday breakfast buffets.
The pavilion and patio are for rent on a reservation basis.

Miller-Riverview Park: Adjacent to Dubuque Greyhound Park
& Casino, 1800 Adm. Sheehy Drive, 589-4238. Open April-October, this
20-acre park and campground features primitive camping facilities with
electrical hookups, showers and rest rooms. There is a marina with a
boat launch less than a block away. Fishing is allowed.

Mud Lake Park: 22312 Golf Lake Road, 552-2746. Open
April-November, this 14-acre park and campground offers modern camping
facilities with 42 sites with electrical, 50 amp service hookups and
showers. There is a marina with a boat launch. Walking and hiking trails
also are being developed.
- Swiss Valley Park
Campground: 13768 Swiss Valley Road, 556-6745. Open
April-November, this 60-acre park and campground features modern camping
facilities: a dump station, shower house, flush toilets, electricity
hookups and tent sites. Trout fishing is allowed. Also, there are hiking
and cross-country skiing trails on the 500-acre nature preserve.

- Heritage Trail:
Three miles north of Dubuque on U.S. 52 at Rupp Hollow Road, 556-4372.
Extending from Dubuque to Dyersville, Iowa, this 26-mile trail follows
the old Chicago Great Western railroad bed. Often used for hiking and
bicycling.

588-1406. The fairground hosts a variety of weekly dances and occasional
orchestra music. Call between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays to
confirm ballroom dance times.
Downhill
Skiing - Chestnut Mountain Resort:

site: wwwchestnutmtn.com. The resort has more than 17 downhill runs up
to 3,500 feet long with 475-foot vertical drop, five chairlifts, three
surface tows, one magic carpet and 100 percent snowmaking over 100
acres. The snowboarding park has a half pipe. Also provided is a large
rental shop that includes apparel and repairs. A ski school,
snowboarding lessons and night skiing also are available. Chestnut
Mountain is a four-season resort.

The ski area has 21 runs up to 4,000 feet in length with a 475-foot
vertical drop and five chairlifts. With night lighting and up to 500
tons of snowmaking every hour, Sundown is equipped to serve beginner,

available.

- Lacoma Golf Course: 8080

courses: one 18-hole, par-71 course; one nine-hole, par-34 course; one
nine-hole, par-35 course and one nine-hole, par-27 course. Club and cart
rental and lessons are available. Reservations recommended. There is a
pro shop, bar and grill.
- The Meadows Golf Course:
15766 Clover Lane, Asbury, Iowa, 583-7385. The par 72 course covers
6,700-yards. It was built on 160 acres, 35 of which are prairie grass.
The Meadows also has banquet facilities, a bar and grill and a golf
shop.

Floodwall Trail: In two sections: 16th Street-Shiras Avenue
extension; and by the parking lot at the end of Terminal Street-the end
of the floodwall at the end of Maus Lake, Dubuque. The 4-foot-wide
asphalt trail offers approximately two miles of terrain for hiking,
biking, snowmobiling and accessing fishing points on Maus Lake.
